Belstaff clothing is considered to be part of a range developed by jacket specialists and the origin and initial roots of the design. Born in 1924, Harry Grosberg founded the brand in Staffordshire, in the heart of the British Midlands, they became the original product line specialising in waterproof garments for both men and women.

The company started as a family run business specialising in all-weather jackets. When they introduced the ‘waxed cotton’ jacket, a jacket designed from fine Egyptian cotton and treated with special oils to make it both waterproof and breathable, Belstaff clothing became pioneers in the design and production of clothing in the motorcycle and aviation industry.

During the 1930s, Belstaff clothing continued to make technological advancements looking into such areas as wind-proof, rain-proof and resistance to heavy friction in an attempt to create the ultimate practical jacket. With its exceptional ability to protect, Belstaff became the brand of choice for any outdoorsman.

Although the brand was hit by the British textile crisis, it has been since recovered and continued to lead the way in different technological advancements in the protection of jackets. In 2002 their joint venture with the Italian company Bear Fruit lead to branching out their collection. The Belstaff clothing range now includes a selection of styles and accessories, the perfect counterpart to accompany their comprehensive range of stylish and practical jackets.
